Jero-san’s Great Guide to Magic Spells and Ethereal Banality

Enjoy and Chiao)

Elemental Control - Part I

The control and manipulation of elements are mostly varied throughout one human being to another. As such, each must develop their own characteristics for spell casting. However, there are primarily two parts in which the control of the elements are necessary.

The body is composed of the real world energy, which is mainly obtained through the nourishment it gets from food, water, etc. Meanwhile, the ethereal energy, or life-force, is always present in the atmosphere, and can freely transcend from one part of reality to another. The real world energy and the ethereal energy, also called ‘the stream of magic’, mixes together and forms what alchemists call the ‘outer form’.

As the caster tries to control the elements, the outer form relaxes and spills out a part of its ethereal energy. Then, by the process, if the etheral energy runs low, it can render the body numb, because the real world energy supports also the part where the ethereal energy is used to be. As such, it is very important to know that depleting the caster of all his ethereal energies can kill him.

Like the caster, there are different ways to control the various elements. There are exactly NO SAME PROCESSES to control the elements. With that in mind, we must start to destinguish the different types of magic manipulation and how each process is done.

Type I - Elemental Control

The Fire Element - controlling the element of fire is a pretty arduous task. The fire, being an element of high energy content, spiritual and real-world, the caster must match those energies given off by the element. As such, only a handful of casters knows how to really control the fire element. Normal mages can only use it for so long and then run out of spiritual energy, completely drained. But the others have a very sneaky way of controlling the fire element, but its power is not as great. Using a catalyst substance, they control that substance from which the fire is existing, and that makes an illusion of them controlling fire. This may be important in some situations, but as a real substitute to the real power of the fire, it can never match it.

The Water Element - arguably, the easiest element to manipulate, the caster can, in lack of terms, mold a container form of his energies and through that, let the water flow in it. Another way of controlling the water element is by manipulating the molecules of the water. With the second form, the caster has the same skills as the basic water caster, but as an advanced user, he can concentrate the water molecules and turn it into its various forms. (I.E, steam, ice).

The Earth Element - in terms of raw power, this might not be the easiest element to conjure, but its array of uses and its energy usage, is the best among the elements. Every earth element can be used as a defensive, and more importantly, an offensive weapon. Earth element manipulation is the backbone of necromancy.

The Wind Element - almost the same as the earth element, but its maneuverability, is like that of the water element. Accuracy and precision is the order of the day here, as its main attribute is its knockdown power. When the caster has perfect control over the element, he can increase the wind pressure, and use it for his own purposes. (turning the wind into an unseeable, almost solid weapon; crushing the enemy in the impact of the wind pressure, etc.)
